Overview
The Green Earth Community Drive was launched to encourage environmental awareness and inspire citizens to take responsibility for maintaining cleaner public spaces. The campaign brought together students, volunteers, local residents, and environmental groups for a full-day community clean-up and tree plantation initiative across several neighborhoods in Howrah.
Volunteers worked in teams to clean streets, parks, and public gathering areas while also educating local communities about proper waste disposal and recycling practices. Awareness sessions were conducted to explain the long-term environmental impact of plastic waste, pollution, and deforestation. Educational posters and eco-friendly materials were distributed to families and local businesses during the event.
As part of the initiative, Orenda organized a large-scale tree plantation activity focused on improving green coverage in urban areas. Local schools and youth groups participated in planting saplings and learning basic environmental conservation practices. Recycling stations were also installed in selected locations to promote sustainable waste management within the community.
